Ryan Beswick has added a new face to his squad as the Reds prepare for the second half of the season. James Taylor has signed from Harborough Town, where he made 19 appearances this season for the Bees. Taylor helped Town keep 11 clean sheets in those 19 appearances, including a 3-0 win against Enfield Town in the FA Trophy.
Born and raised in the south, Taylor has moved to the Midlands, but counts Hayes & Yeading and Harrow Borough amongst his former clubs. During his time with “The Boro”, the defender helped them to an FA Cup first round appearance, playing 90 minutes at Fratton Park as Portsmouth narrowly defeated the Isthmian League side 1-0.
James spent last season with Uxbridge, coincidentally helping a team nicknamed “The Reds” to promotion from step four for the first time in club history. Taylor made 41 appearances, scoring four times, for the Isthmian League South Central runners-up, including in front of a crowd of over 1,500 at Honeycroft in the playoff final, as they triumphed 2-1 over Hanworth Villa.
Welcome to Farley Way James.
