Quorn Football Club have announced the signing of fan favourite Zak Goodson, who returns to Farley Way following a stint at NPL East club Matlock Town.
Initially signed in the summer of 2024, Goodson made 81 appearances across the NPL Midlands title-winning season, and the eighth placed finish in the Southern League Premier Central campaign last season. After scoring 12 goals in the 2024/25 season, Goodson almost doubled that number with 23 last year. Although committing to the club at the start of this season and featuring in the first two matches, the Gladiators continued their pursuit until they finally got their man in early August. Zak made 14 appearances at Matlock Town, scoring six times.
Goodson returns to Farley Way with the Reds in fine form, unbeaten in the past six league games, climbing to fifteenth in the table. Zak is available for selection on Friday evening, adding more firepower to a side that has scored 21 times in the previous eight matches. Eleventh placed Alfreton Town are the visitors tomorrow night, when there will be another familiar face at Farley Way as former Reds Captain Reece Fyfe also makes a return to Quorn, but turning out for the visitors.
Welcome back Zak.
