REPORT: Quorn 3-2 Warrington Town

Quorn ended October unbeaten in the league with a 3-2 home win against Warrington Town.

The hosts should have been out of sight within the first 10 minutes when they had four clear cut chances but two saves, the crossbar and a goal line clearance denied them.

Their supporters could have been forgiven for wondering if it wasn’t going to there day, but two minutes later they were 2-0 up with Terell Pennant firing home before Luke Shaw got on the end of a low cross to tap home a minute later.

Quorn continued to dominate the rest of the first half but didn’t manage to convert again.

While there weren’t so many clear cut chances, Quorn dominated the majority of the second half.

Ryan Beswick fired a free kick at goal that was parried away by the Quorn keeper while Jesse Friend and Terell Pennant kept causing Warrington a lot of trouble.

Midway through the half Pennant was put through one-on-one again but instead of shooting, this time he laid the ball off for Finlay Tunstall who had an empty net to score in.

Warrington Town did manage to make the ending nervy for the home side with Jack Goodwin scoring with 18 minutes left to play.

As the game entered injury time, Reece Daly scored a penalty to reduce the deficit to one but there was no time for an equaliser and Quorn took all three points.
