Quorn travel to Ilkeston on Bank Holiday Monday, for the first time in over seven years, with both sides looking to bounce back from heavy defeats on Saturday.
Quorn’s Form:
After two games which ended 2-2, The Reds were at home, ready to welcome Whitby Town to Farley Way. Unfortunately, it was a tough day at the office and despite their being plenty of goals it was The Seasiders who came out on top winning 6-3.
The Opposition:
The Robins started off their step three campaign with a 1-0 win at home to Stockton Town. They then followed that up with a second win a few days later beating Emely AFC 2-1 away. Since then though The Robins have found it tough with no wins in their last five matches. The Robins lost to Whitby Town, Warrington Town and Cleethorpes Town before gaining a point against Ashton United 1-1. Their most recent match saw a 7-0 defeat away to Bury.
Head-to-Head:
Quorn have won two and lost four in six meetings with Ilkeston Town, and their forerunner Ilkeston. In three trips to the New Manor Ground, the Reds have lost every time. The most recent meeting was in the FA Cup Preliminary Round five years ago with the Robins winning 2-1 at Farley Way. Last time at Ilkeston was in the Midland Football League League Cup Quarter-Final, with Town winning 3-1 in February 2019.
One-to-Watch:
38-year-old Colin Daniel is certainly a name to look out for. Colin is a former football league player with bags of experience on the left-hand side of defence and midfield. His time in football has included spells at clubs such as Macclesfield Town, Mansfield Town, Port Vale, Blackpool, Peterborough United and Burton Albion to name a few. His most recent spell was with non-league Worksop Town before transferring to The Robins in 2024.
