Quorn come into this clash with every intention to leapfrog up the table and continue taking their chances after scoring four last time out.

Quorn’s Form:

After two wins in a row in the league, Quorn are hopeful to make it three on the bounce against Bury Town at home. It was a hard-fought top of the table clash away to Alvechurch last time out, the Methodists came out on top however outscoring their opponents 4-3. Simeon Cobourne picked up two that would eventually end up being the deciders for the match, Zak Goodson and Luke Cox also got on the scoresheet. This is in spite of a wonderous free kick from Tope Obadeyi which made it a nerve-racking final few minutes for the Reds.

It has unfortunately been a different story in Cup competitions for Quorn as the Methodists were knocked out first in the abandoned 5-1 defeat to Enfield Town to leave the FA Cup, and then were knocked out on penalties by Corby Town in the FA Trophy, Beswick’s side must aim to make up for these defeats in the cups by continuing a strong run of form in the league and will hope that the four goals against Alvechurch is a sign of change after struggling to make the most of chances this season. Quorn are still having an impressive season despite this, sitting fifth in the Southern Premier Central Division despite being new to the league.

The Opposition:

Bury Town ended a seven-game winless run last time out against St Ives Town. Despite being down to ten men in the final parts of the game the Blues were able to hold onto their lead after a Mikey Davies goal in the thirtieth minute put them ahead.

Town are also new to this level, finishing third in their league last season and earning promotion through the playoffs. That victory was made all the sweeter after finishing runners-up the year before and enduring playoff heartache.

Prior to their game against St Ives, Bury got a 2-2 draw against Bromsgrove Sporting after three consecutive defeats in the league, only scoring one goal in this period. That three match streak was against tough opposition though, a 2-1 loss at home to Spalding United, a 1-0 defeat against Alvechurch 1-0 and a 2-0 loss against Real Bedford.

Head-to-Head:

This is the first time Quorn and Bury Town have played each other. The return meeting will be held at Ram Meadow on the seventh of February next year.

Ones to Watch:

Striker Cemal Ramadan will be one for Quorn to look out for as the former Irish Under 18 international player has netted three goals in the league this season making him one of their most lethal threats. Ramadan came through the Ipswich Town academy and moved to Bury from Royston Town in the 17/18 season.
