After a near fortnight wait, the Methodists get back to the action, hosting Bishop’s Stortford. Quorn will look to make it consecutive victories at home after a good 2-0 win against Stamford last time out.
Quorn’s Form:
Quorn has had a very inconsistent start to the year. Whilst Ryan Beswick’s side has been able to pick up good wins against Royston Town and Stamford, a huge 5-0 loss against Stourbridge leaves a dark blemish on Quorn’s form.
This, along with other results against Spalding United and Alvechurch, have Quorn looking over their shoulder as the race for playoff places enters the final chapter.
Goals from Jacob Fenton and Silvio Bello meant that the Reds got an important win against Stamford last time out. This result has left Quorn fourth in the division, though many of the chasing pack have games in hand.
The Opposition:
Bishop’s Stortford’s season has been riddled with inconsistency. They are nearly level on wins (10) and losses (11), summarising the lack of long stretches of good or bad form. This has left them in the middle of the division, currently 10 points off the playoffs, and 11 above relegation.
The last few games have been particularly difficult for The Blues, being without a win in any of their last four fixtures. They have just one win in the previous six matches, 2-0 away to relegation threatened AFC Sudbury. Last time out against Spalding United though has given Bishop’s Stortford reason to believe they can get back on the right track, coming from behind to secure a point in an impressive 2-2 draw.
Head-to-head:
There has only been one recorded fixture between the two sides. Earlier in the season, Quorn travelled to Bishop’s Stortford and engaged in a thrilling encounter. That game finished 3-4 to Quorn, with late goals handing The Reds the three points. Deen Master opened the scoring that day for The Methodists, scoring the second of his three goals in the
league this season.
One to Watch:
Chelsea youth product Cole Dasilva is one of the most gifted players in the division. Scoring eight goals for Bishop’s Stortford so far this season, Dasilva is a name familiar to many fans in the lower leagues, having previously spent time with Oxford City, Royston Town, Biggleswade Town and Bedford Town. Cole is the younger brother of Coventry City’s Welsh International Jay Dasilva.
