U18s: Quorn Return to Midweek Floodlit League
Quorn Football Club have confirmed that their application to rejoin the Leicestershire Midweek Floodlit Youth League has been accepted.
The young Reds, having won their division in 2024/25, graduated and moved to Under 23s level for last season, leaving the club without a side to compete in the Midweek Floodlit League, but the club are delighted to announce that former first team player John Folwell has brought a side to the club.
Folwell, who played for the club from 2002 until 2006, made 150 appearances for the club, scoring the eight times, as a member of the Reds during their time in the Midland Football Alliance. “I am delighted to return to Quorn” said Folwell, “this is an ambitious local club who I have a great connection and affinity to. I appreciate the support from the committee in helping this happen and look forward to the season ahead’
The LMFYL have confirmed that Quorn will play in the Eastern Division, where they will face the following;
Anstey Nomads Swifts, Ashby Ivanhoe, Borrowash Victoria, Carlton Town, Coalville Town, Gresley Rovers, Heather St. John’s and Kirby Muxloe.
Whilst Pro:Direct Academy Leicester entered the FA Youth Cup as Quorn Academy last season, the club have confirmed that Folwell’s Midweek side will take the place in that competition this season, joining at the Extra-Preliminary stage in the week commencing Monday the 17th of August. Fixtures will be published on the website when released.
