SQUAD NEWS: Webb Departs

Quorn Football Club have confirmed that goal-scoring supremo Paddy Webb has left the club. After a little over three seasons, Webb leaves the Stotto Stadium with legendary status, having scored 84 times for the Reds in just 115 for appearances. Paddy will be joining NPL Midlands new boys Mickleover where he’ll look to help “Sports” bounce straight back to step three.

Paddy arrived at Farley Way at the tail end of the 2021/22 season, making just one appearance. The former Basford United forward hit the ground running the following season, scoring 41 goals in 46 appearances and helping fire the Reds to playoff success and a return to step four. A another impressive performance saw him strike 29 times in 41 appearances as the step-up barely slowed him down and he helped Quorn to a second straight playoff appearance. Last season brought 14 goals in 27 appearances in a season that was seriously interrupted by injury.

The Club would like to take this opportunity to thank Paddy for his time with the Reds, recognising that we owe him a huge debt of gratitude for his extraordinary goal-scoring exploits over the last three years. Everyone at the club would like to wish Paddy all the best for the future as he departs. I’m not crying… you are!
