SQUAD NEWS: Reaney Relishing Reds Challenge
Quorn Football Club have confirmed that young defender Elias Reaney has joined on loan from Notts County for the remainder of 2026.
Born and raised in Nottinghamshire, Elias joined his local club West Bridgford Colts at an early age, moving around several clubs in the area before deciding he was ready to get into the Academy system at the age of 14. The 19 year old has been there ever since. On the Magpies recent preseason training camp in Denmark, Elias was handed a start in friendly action against Danish Superliga side Randers
“I try to keep perspective that football is something I do rather than allow it to consume my whole identity” said the cerebral youngster, displaying maturity way beyond his teenage years. Having already suffered a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Reaney knows the value of being able to enjoy his time on the pitch. “My favourite footballing memory is scoring on my first game back after that injury. Being able to celebrate it with my family and friends made it a really special moment.”
Away from football, Elias again spoke with wisdom beyond his years, “I’m particularly proud of my family and everything we’ve experienced together. For me, the role I play in other people’s lives away from football is something I take a lot of pride in.”
“Quorn felt like a really good fit for me tactically because they play a similar system to my parent club. I also built a really positive relationship with the manager quickly, so it became an easy decision for me to sign here. I already know a few of the lads from their time at Notts County, especially Madou. I also know Aiden Edwards and Jaiden Campbell-Ryce, who I’m friends with both inside and outside of football.”
“This season I want to come in and make a real impact for Quorn, help the team compete at the top end of the league and contribute towards having a successful season. On a personal level, I want to establish myself, keep developing and show what I’m capable of. Longer term, I want to keep pushing myself towards the highest level I can, playing all around the world, and hopefully this can be an important step in that journey.”
