SQUAD NEWS: Peter Abimbola Joins on Loan

Quorn Football Club have confirmed the addition of experienced midfielder Peter Abimbola on loan from Bedford Town.

Abimbola is Northampton born and raised, signing with his local club Billing United at 10 years of age, before moving on to Northampton Town’s Academy at 12. Peter rose through the ranks, going on to sign professionally for the Cobblers and making 11 appearances, including in EFL Division One.

Since leaving Northampton, Abimbola has gained plenty of experience at step three, playing over 30 matches for Banbury United last season, and more than 30 for St. Ives Town the year before.

“I heard a lot of good things about the club and manager” said Abimbola, continuing “It’s also a good opportunity to play in a league similar to the one my parent club are in, to get a feel of how the  National League North will be. I’m hoping to help the team build on what was a successful season last year. Personally, I’m looking to add goals and assists to my game. Long term I want to play at as high a level as possible.”
