SQUAD NEWS: Master Joins Reds
Quorn Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of former Barwell forward Deen Master. The exciting winger becomes Ryan Beswick’s fourth summer signing as he looks to prepare his side for life in step three.
Born and bred in Leicester, Master followed the family tradition of joining a football club at an early age. Whilst with Leicester Nirvana, Deen was scouted by Burton Albion signing for their Under 12s. After an impressive string of performances upon returning to Nirvana, Master left the Hamilton based club for step three Barwell.
A PE Teacher by trade, Master made an immediate impact at Kirkby Road, scoring the winner against Ilkeston on his debut. Master spent three seasons with the Canaries, who were mired in a relegation battle last season. “It’s a fresh start for me” said Deen, continuing “after spending three years at Barwell, I’m really looking forward to playing again and helping the team.”
“After having a few conversations with the gaffer it felt right, he has a great vision for the club and is a top guy whose ideas suited me. I know a few of the players here already, and some that I’ve played against a few times. I know there will be some new faces but Ryan’s put a lot of stock in getting the right people in and I’ve heard the lads are a great group, so that always helps.”
“I’ve played the level for a few years now so understand what’s required. We hope to finish as high as we can and show the other teams that we are more than capable of competing. Personally, I’m aiming to be the best version of myself, providing goals and assists, and help the team by doing so. Longer term hopefully the club can push as hard as possible, and you never know what can happen.”
Fellow new signing Joe Lyne also commented “I know Deen, he’s a top lad and great player. We were introduced through a mutual friend in football” adding jokingly “and I’ve recently been doing his running for him on the five-a-side pitch as well.”
Welcome to the Stotto Stadium Deen.
