SQUAD NEWS: Lindon Joins Reds
Quorn Football Club have confirmed their latest signing, in the shape of experienced forward Lindon Meikle.
Nottingham born Lindon broke through at Eastwood Town, helping the club to NPL Premier Division title and onto the National League. During his spell with the Badgers, Meikle was named man of the match as he scored in a 2-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers, leading his side to the third round of the FA Cup.
Meikle had been managed at Eastwood by Paul Cox and followed him to Mansfield Town after two impressive seasons at step two. Lindon took the step up in his stride, helping the Stags to a playoff run that ended at the semi-final stage. The following year he would play a key role as Mansfield won the Conference and promotion back to League Two.
After a season in League Two with Mansfield, Meikle moved onto division rivals York City, appearing over 50 times across two seasons. Returning to non-league football, Lindon spent the next two seasons appearing for Macclesfield Town, Alfreton Town, Barrow and Southport, before enjoying an extended spell at Kettering Town, where he helped the Poppies win promotion to step two, alongside Tom Cherry, making 125 appearances for the Northamptonshire club.
The following six seasons were spent at steps two and three with Tamworth, Buxton, Ilkeston Town and Barwell, before a brief stint with Rugby Borough last season.
