REPORT: Quorn 3-0 Workington

Quorn continued their recent good run of form with a first home win in the league this season. Terell Pennant got the ball rolling before a second half strike from Billy Kee allowed some breathing room and Jayden-Samuel Lawrence-Lowther completed the scoring with a sublime effort in stoppage time. Aidan Edwards earned man of the match plaudits, as the former Torquay United youngster made his first start for the Methodists, dominating midfield alongside Player/Manager Ryan Beswick.

Jake Laban made a routine save for the hosts in the second minute from a long range effort, before becoming a virtual spectator for the remainder of the match. Pennant opened the scoring as he threaded the ball through the legs of Danny Eccles in the 25th minute. Despite numerous chances for Quorn, it remained 1-0 at the break.

Finlay Tunstall saw an effort hit the post before Kee, who had already seen one effort cleared off the line, added a second in the 76th minute. The scoring was complete when Lawrence-Lowther came off the bench to add the exclamation point on a superb performance. The powerful striker beat his man along the right touchline, cutting back inside the box and beating him again before curling an effort into the bottom corner. Workington remain in the playoff places despite an off day, whilst Quorn put some distance between themselves and the bottom four.
