REPORT: Bedworth United 4-1 Quorn
Quorn’s pre-season hit a bump in the road with a 4-1 defeat away at Bedworth United.
The game was Quorn’s third of pre-season having beaten Matlock Town 3-1 on Tuesday but they never got going in this one.
Striker Tim Berridge got his first minutes in a Quorn shirt in this game while there were also minutes for Madou Cisse, Jake Williams and Ben Kaninda, Quorn’s three new signings that they announced on Friday.
Bedworth got off to a good start opening the scoring inside five minutes. The home side were then able to capitalise on a defensive error five minutes before the break to go in with a two goal advantage.
Despite there being a number of changes at the interval, they didn’t change the flow of the game and Bedworth increased their lead further just before the hour mark.
The one bright moment for Quorn came midway through the second half when new striker Tim Berridge got a goal in his first appearance for the club.
But even the goal failed to spark Quorn into life and a miserable afternoon was capped off with another poorly conceded goal late on.
Quorn manager Ryan Beswick was clear in his post match interview about the disappointment he felt about the performance and that there was a lot of work still to do before the beginning of the season.
