Quorn host Spalding United for the first time since the start of January in a thrilling league fixtures that ended in disappointment for the Reds.

Quorn’s Form:

After a fantastic pre-season win against Matlock Town, the Reds faced off against a well organised Bedworth side at the weekend. The short trip across into Warwickshire saw the Reds come away with a 4-1 defeat in a difficult testing fixture. The Reds will be hoping for a quick turn around and record a positive result against higher opposition. 

The Opposition:

Spalding come into this game after an impressive pre-season performance against National League side Scunthorpe United. The Tulips drew 2-2 and will be hoping to record another positive result against the Reds. The only other pre-season game the Tulips have contested was the 2-0 win against step four side AFC Rushden and Diamonds, meaning they are unbeaten in two games so far. The Tulips ended last season in style, beating Real Bedford in the Southern League Premier Division Central’s playoff final, securing a step two place for the first time.

Head-to-Head:

The Reds are very familiar to facing Spalding. In the league last year it was The Tulips who ensured victory at Farley Way the last time the two sides met. The Reds lost out to a late Jack Roberts winner, but manager Ryan Beswick scored an emphatic penalty earlier in the game during the 4-3 defeat. The Reds last travelled to Spalding on a cold Tuesday night last November where another closely contested game ended in a 1-1 draw, with Zak Goodson netting for the Reds.   

One-to-Watch:

Liam Moore is certainly one to watch for the Reds. The Loughborough born central defender started his career off at Leicester City making over half a century of appearances for the Foxes. Moore brings vast experience with the likes of Bradford, Brentford, Bristol City and most famously Reading among the clubs on his resume.
