Quorn’s Form:

The Reds head into Saturday’s game on the back of a hard-earned 2-1 victory in the County Cup against Aylestone Park. Quorn would have hoped to get more out of the mid-week fixture and put the local side to the sword, but they proved to be stubborn opposition. None the less Ryan Beswick’s side came away with the victory.

In the league, the winning form continues as last time out Quorn managed to beat Redditch United 3-2 in a game of one half. All five goals being in the first half set up quite the spectacle for the audience at the Stotto Stadium that evening.

The Opposition:

Worcester City, without a win in their last two games, will be hoping to get things back on track after an away defeat to St. Ives Town and a good draw away to Spalding United with 10 men. The visiting side currently sit ninth in the table, with only five points separating them and a play-off spot.

The most recent game for them was the draw away at Spalding, where Connor Stanley managed to earn his team a point in the 96th minute. The result will no doubt build confidence in the side as a point against top of the table is not something to be disappointed In. Head coach Chris Cornes will hope his side can pick up a win from their third consecutive away fixture.

Head-to-Head:

It was the first game of the season when the two sides last met, and it was a late Finn O’Boyle winner that separated them. Newley promoted Quorn had something to prove travelling away to the Sixways Stadium on the first game of the season, and they did just that. The attendance of 986 didn’t phase the Reds that day as they won the game at the death and managed to walk away with all three points to kick off the season.

One to Watch:

Dan Sweeny is the one to watch this week. Being Worcester City’s top scorer this season, the striker currently sits on nine goals in 21 appearances. Sweeney managed to grab himself a goal in Worcester’s last fixture, with a well-taken penalty being the latest of his strikes to find the back of the net.
