Quorn travel to Stourbridge for The Methodists' first game of 2026 after the postponement of the home game against Stamford. The Reds will hope to start the year with a win against a Stourbridge side that, whilst threatened by relegation, have seen an upturn since a recent managerial change.

Quorn’s Form:

The Reds have gone two games without a win, losing one and drawing the other. However, overall, Quorn’s recent form has been good, winning four on the bounce before the loss against Worcester City.

The most recent game was against Barwell. A 2-2 draw that Quorn had dominated in large spells, but ultimately were only able to come away with a point, thanks to a late equaliser. Leading scorers Zak Goodson and Simeon Cobourne both netted in a match that Quorn had trailed at half time.

The Reds’ last win was against Redditch United, 3-2 at home, with all five goals coming in the first 22 minutes. The Methodists scored the majority and were able to see out the rest of the game.

The Opposition:

Stourbridge have been in good form of late, going four games undefeated. Whilst they have struggled overall this season, these recent results will give fans hope going into the New Year that they will be able to turn the season around and escape the relegation zone.

Their last game was against Banbury United, a 1-1 draw. The game was not one with much quality, with midfielder Dom Lewis scoring the only goal for Stourbridge.

Stourbridge's most recent win was a massive upset against Harborough Town, a side battling out at the top for automatic promotion. The Glass Boys scored a late goal to win the game 2-1.

Head to Head:

The two sides met early in the season, in Quorn’s first step three match at Farley Way. Despite leading for most of the match, a mistake in the dying minutes meant that the Reds had to be satisfied with a point in a 1-1 draw.

One to Watch:

Lethal Striker Jenson Sumnall has been firing them in for Stourbridge this season, scoring seven league goals. Sumnal arrived on a free transfer last summer. He is the top goal scorer at the club and will need to be prevented from having his way with the Quorn defence.

Directions:

Take the A512 from Loughborough, through Shepshed, and out towards Ashby-de-la-Zouch. Turning south onto the A42, remain on the road as it becomes the M42. Exit the M42 onto the M6 North. At Junction 8 use the left hand lane to move onto the M5. Depart the M5 at Junction 3, taking the A456 towards Kidderminster. On entering Hagley (long Downhill Approach) turn right at the traffic lights onto the A491 (Stourbridge). Continue on this road until you reach Stourbridge Town Centre and the Ring Road (careful of speed cameras). Follow the ring road and continue on the A491 (signposted Wolverhampton). The ground is on the left-hand side of the road, immediately after the third set of traffic lights (opposite Vets for Pets). There is no supporter parking onsite, although the club do, of course, have a limited number of disabled supporter spaces available, on a strictly first come, first served basis. If such a space is required, please email their Club Office to arrange this, ideally before matchday.
