Quorn host bottom of the League Stamford in the first fixture of the New Year. The Daniels travel to Farley Way having lost 3-0 to league leaders Spalding United last time out.
Quorn’s Form:
Quorn were unlucky to only get a draw last time out against Barwell. Chances were left unfinished in the final minutes of the match however Ryan Beswick’s side showed good resilience to go ahead in the game after finding themselves a goal down at half time. Unfortunately for The Reds, Barwell showed equal resilience coming back late on. The Reds still find themselves in third and despite not winning in the last two games they remain steady, going undefeated in the five games leading up a 4-2 loss against Worcester City
The Opposition:
Stamford have lost the last two games in the Southern League Premier Central Division. Losing against top of the League Spalding United last time out. Prior to this they lost to Redditch United 2-0. Stamford were unable to score in either game and have scored only thirteen goals, the fewest in the division, so far this season. However, Manager Graham Drury has looked to address that with the signing of Leon Lobjoit earlier this week.
Head-to-Head
This is the first between the two sides in fourteen seasons. Stamford have won five straight against the Reds, most recently 3-2 at the Daniels Stadium in November 2011. Their most recent visit to Farley Way was in March that same year, when they won 1-0.
One to Watch:
Kai Sanchez-Tonge joined The Daniels in October and has lit the division up already. In a struggling squad he has managed to score seven goals in the League. Sanchez-Tonge actually played 14 times for the Methodists, scoring six, before leaving in 2019.
