The Methodists aim to get the better of this top of the table clash in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central against Harborough Town.

Quorn have only lost one league match all season against Barwell, beating Leiston 3-2 in their last game out. The club will hope to continue this rich vein of form against their Leicestershire rivals.

The Opposition:

The Bee’s drew 1-1 with Halesowen Town at home last time out in the league going a goal down but responding a two minutes later through Bradey Hickey. Methodist manager Ryan Beswick will be familiar with Harborough’s Hickey, who he partnered in midfield at Nuneaton Town in the 2017/18 season.

Prior to the 1-1 draw against Halesowen, Harborough had picked up wins against all opponents they had played in the league except for a draw against Spalding United. This includes a 0-1 win on Bank Holiday Monday away to Kettering Town, with 2091 fans in attendance.

Quorn fans will be familiar with Alex Morris who played for the Reds for three years between 2018 and 2021. Morris is not the only former Quorn player as Devon Kelly-Evans, who made fifteen EFL appearances for Coventry City, also represented the Reds during the 23/24 season.

Head-to-Head:

The last time Quorn played Harborough Town was on the 13th of April 2024. The Reds suffered a heavy defeat losing 5-0 away to the Bees. Harborough earned promotion that season, defeating Anstey Nomads in the playoff final. Town would have won the league, but for a six point deduction that saw them finish in third place.

Harborough Goalkeeper Elliot Taylor, who was also at Nuneaton with Beswick and Hickey, started in the previous match, and remains at the Bees alongside Morris and Luis Rose, who were both on the scoresheet.

The Bees have won the previous three meetings, dating back to a 6-1 win for the Reds at Farley Way in 2019.

Last Game:

224 fans were entertained at the Victory Road as Quorn got the better of Leiston in a thrilling 2-3 win. Leiston opened the scoring before being 1-2 down at half time after goals from Zak Goodson and Deen Master. A goal from Simeon Cobourne right after the break look to put the game to bed, though Leiston found a consolation goal in the ninety second minute..

Ones to Watch:

A player Quorn need to make sure stays quiet is Danny Newton. Newton was a regular starter for Stevenage in League 2 in the late 2010s, scoring 14 in the league in the 2017/18 season. He has proven he is still capable of scoring now having scored twice in Harborough’s last 4 games
