Quorn travel to Bedworth for the first time since November 2024. They’ll be hoping to round off the week with a second preseason win.
Quorn’s Form:
After opening preseason with a 2-1 defeat at home against Barwell, the Reds responded very well. A fantastic 3-1 away win against a tough Matlock Town side has set them up nicely for another tough test against step four opposition. After being one goal down at the break, the Reds responded in exactly the right fashion with manager Ryan Beswick describing the win as a ‘pleasing result.’
The Opposition:
The Greenbacks come into this game off the back off an impressive 2-1 preseason win away to Chasetown. Bedworth had a disappointing campaign last season in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division finishing in 18th place. United did however end the season very well, staving off relegation, and unbeaten in their final seven games. You have to go back to the 14th of March when the Greenbacks last lost a game. This came at the hands of Anstey Nomads who impressively secured promotion to step three.
Head-to-Head:
The Reds have faced Bedworth before, with the last meeting coming in February 2025 at Farley Way. That day was an incredible day for the Reds, who recorded a resounding 6-0 win against the Greenbacks. The last meeting at the Oval came in late 2024, with the Reds recording a sweet 3-1 win victory to ensure the three points.
One-to-Watch:
The referee will certainly be one that is very familiar to Reds fans. Carl Baker will be remembered for his time with the Reds, alongside his son Louis, before he finished his playing career. Baker also has the likes of Coventry City and Portsmouth on his resume, in an impressive career. Now retired from playing, Baker has remained in football, running the successful Carl Baker Academy in Coventry and progressing through the ranks as a Referee.
