After a huge win last time out against Real Bedford, Quorn will hope to extend their three match unbeaten streak as they host in form Banbury United

Quorn’s Form:

Quorn has been able to turn around a sticky patch at the start to the year, only losing one of their last six games. A 4-1 defeat to Halesowen Town on the road. Most recently, the Reds got the better of Real Bedford in a 1-0 win, despite top goal scorer Zak Goodson seeing red early in the match.

The Methodists played in a thrilling 4-4 draw in the game prior. St. Ives Town were the opponents in the other current unbeaten streak as the Reds second half blitz saw a comfortable 4-1 win on the road. This recent run has left Quorn in fourth place, but with many opponents have multiple games in hand, including Banbury.

The Opposition:

Banbury United have mounted an impressive, undefeated run. It has been nine games since the Puritans last lost a game, a surprising 1-0 defeat at the hands of Barwell, which we unfortunately know the taste of. That match at Kirby Road was all the way back in December, so Banbury are yet to lose a game in 2026 (unless you count a penalty shootout defeat in the week to Kidlington in the County Cup). Most recently, Banbury were able to come back from a goal down against Alvechurch. The Puritans were able to score a goal in the 81st and 96th minutes to snatch not just a stalemate, but a win from the jaws of defeat. League leaders Harborough Town also fell to Banbury during this run. The Puritans topping the Bees 1-0. If that wasn’t enough, they also won 2-1 away to Spalding United, so despite sitting eighth in the table, United are the form side in the division, and will pose a significant challenge.

Head-to-Head:

The two sides have met just once before, the reverse fixture from earlier in the season. In November of last year, Banbury got the better of Quorn after scoring in the 93rd minute. Despite the result, it was a thrilling match for both sides, being 2-2 with plenty of chances right up to the point of the Puritans winner.

One-to-watch:

Twenty-three-year-old striker Connor Ferguson has impressed so far this season, scoring ten goals. Ferguson joined the club in 2024 and has become a favourite at Banbury United. He will have to be watched closely to ensure Quorn sees out the match.
