NEWS: Groundworks Completed
Quorn Football Club have confirmed that they have completed all of the necessary upgrades to Farley Way for the Reds to remain in step three.
Promoted clubs are given until the end of March the following season to get their ground up to the relevant grading following a step up in divisions. With Quorn comfortably winning the NPL Midlands last season, work began in earnest before the end of 2024/25, leaving a short list of items to attend to.
Following successful applications for grants from the Premier League Stadium Fund, Quorn have added five new media benches in the main stand as well completing fencing to allow for segregation, should the need arise. Those items have brought Farley Way up to the grade for step three, but the success of this campaign meant further improvements were required.
Ryan Beswick’s side have exceeded expectations, with the Reds in with a shot of a playoff place. In order to be eligible for the end of season playoffs, an additional area of hardstanding was required, to bring the capacity of Farley Way up to a minimum of 1,950. With the hardstanding completed last week, a new capacity calculation was undertaken with the club achieving the requirement.
A new maximum capacity of 1,952 means that, not only can Quorn continue at step three, but they also have the opportunity to compete for a third promotion in four seasons. The playoff push continues on Good Friday, when the Reds host AFC Sudbury (3pm KO), so why not come down to Farley Way and support the boys as they look to continue their incredible debut season in step three.
