FA Competitions Update

The Football Association have confirmed that Quorn Football Club will enter the FA Cup in the first qualifying round, meaning that the Reds will receive byes through the extra-preliminary and preliminary rounds.

It was also announced that Quorn would join the FA Trophy in the third qualifying round, skipping the preliminary round as well as the first and second qualifying rounds.

PDA Academy Leicester will represent Quorn in the FA Youth Cup, entering in the preliminary round at the start of September. The draw for this competition will be revealed on Friday the 4th of July.

This will be the ninth time that Quorn have been involved in the first qualifying round of the FA Cup, and first time in five years. On that occasion the Reds lost 2-0 at home to Matlock Town. Of the eight previous appearances, Quorn have only won through to the second qualifying round on three occasions, most recently in the 2011/12 season.

Quorn have only reached the third qualifying round of the FA Trophy on two previous occasions, beating AFC Telford United 2-0 at home two years ago. the only previous time that the Reds reached this stage was in the 2009/10 season when Vauxhall Motors won 3-2 at Farley Way.
