SQUAD NEWS: Samuels Joins Reds

Quorn Football Club have confirmed the signing of forward Austin Samuels. A graduate of the Wolverhampton Wanderers Academy, Austin made his Football League debut with Bradford City, making fourteen appearances for the Bantams during a loan spell in which he scored in the FA Cup.

As well as sending him out on loan to Kidderminster Harriers, Wolves also sent him to Aberdeen, where he appeared in the Scottish Premier League seven times for the Dons. After the expiration of his deal with Wanderers, Samuels stayed north of the border, spending several seasons with Inverness Caledonian Thistle, making 56 appearances and scoring seven times in the Scottish Championship.

A severe injury saw a frustrating spell on the sidelines for the pacey forward whilst he was with Caley Thistle. Having worked his way back to full fitness, Samuels spent time with Greenock Morton, before moving back to closer to home with Rushall Olympic. In nine games in the National League North last season Austin scored three times, but was unable to help prevent relegation for the Pics. This season has seen brief stints in step two with Spennymoor Town and Alfreton Town, as well one appearance recently for step four Shifnal Town. Samuels joins the Reds in time to feature against Real Bedford this afternoon.
