Quorn welcome Warrington Town to Farley Way for the second time, in what will be the Reds first home game since the 3-0 win against Workington on the 10th October.
Quorn’s Form:
After a disappointing 6-2 FA Trophy exit against Kettering Town in stormy conditions on Saturday the Reds were back on the road for the second trip to Greater Manchester this month. Jesse Friend secured both goals for the Reds against the Poppies. Quorn then faced off against FC United of Manchester just three days later securing a decent point in a hard-fought game. Friend was once again the goalscorer for the second match in a row.
The Opposition:
Warrington Town currently sit in ninth place in the league just one point outside the playoffs. The Yellows had to play out to storm Boelo and ultimately fell sour to the conditions losing 2-1 to Gainsborough Trinity at home. Before this, The Yellows were on the road for two away games against Alfreton Town and Bamber Bridge. The Wire secured four points in this time. One point against Alfreton in a 1-1 draw and three against Bamber Bridge in a 1-0 win. The two homes games before that were both 2-2 draws against Lancaster City and Workington.
Head-to-Head:
Surprisingly, the two teams have faced off before. You have to go back to the 2007-2008 season to when The Reds last faced Warrington Town in a game. The 25th August 2007 was a 2-0 defeat for the Methodists at Farley Way. However, The Reds did gain a point against Warrington Town on the 19th of January 2008 when the two teams played out a 1-1 draw. The two teams faced off that season in the Northern Premier League Division One South.
One-to-Watch:
20-year-old local Liverpool lad Callum Edwards is one to certainly look out for. Edwards started his career coming through the Wrexham academy before loan spells at Bala Town and Southport before making the move to The Yellows. Edwards is in decent form with three goals this term, two of which have come in the Yellows last five games.
