Quorn face Kettering Town for the second time this season in cup competitions. The Reds will be hoping for a better outcome this time as they make the short trip across from Leicestershire to Northamptonshire.

Quorn’s Form:

After nearly two weeks off, The Reds are well rested ahead of this one. The last game was the trip to Greater Manchester where Quorn came away with a 2-2 draw against Hyde United on the 13th of October. This has kept The Reds unbeaten in five with the last defeat coming away to Kettering in the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Cup. Quorn’s progression to this round of the Trophy was secured last month when they beat step three side Leamington 4-2.

The Opposition:

The Poppies come into this game in some decent form, albeit mixed. Their last game was a brilliant 4-0 win at home to Leiston, followed by a local cup game against step five opponents Northampton ON Chenecks who they beat on penalties. Their last defeat came away to Bromsgrove Sporting on the 13th of October where The Poppies suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Rouslers. Town reached this stage with an impressive 4-0 victory away to Matlock Town.

Head-to-Head:

The Reds have played Kettering Town four times before. After never meeting in 101 years, the two sides play for the fifth time in 403 days. Quorn the first match, at Farley Way, 2-1, but have since lost 2-0, 3-1 and 2-0 again.

One-to-Watch:

Just like last time Michael Gyasi is still in some fine form and one to watch. The 26-year-old versatile forward now has seven goals to his name this term. Gyasi came through the Leicester City academy, before playing for multiple different clubs. His most notable include Chesterfield, Boston United, Tamworth, Kidderminster Harriers, Kings Lynn Town and Bedford Town before making the switch to Kettering. Gyasi even had a brief spell in Germany for lower league side 1. FC Phönix Lübeck.
