Quorn now turn their attention to the Emirates FA Cup where they will travel to step three side Kettering Town, with a place in the third qualifying round up for grabs.
Quorn’s Form:
The Red’s come into this game on back of a tough away defeat to Guiseley. The Lions roared in a commanding 4-1 victory leaving The Reds in the relegation zone. Before that, they had something to cheer about with the route to the second qualifying round of the FA Cup secured with a win against local rivals Shepshed Dynamo 2-1, which was on the back of a 2-0 win away to Ilkeston Town.
The Opposition:
Kettering come into this game having been unbeaten so far in all competitions. Last time out against Stratford Town, they won 1-0. Before that, The Poppies secured their place in the second qualifying round of the Cup with a 2-1 win over local rivals Wellingborough Town in a replay, after a 2-2 draw at the Dog & Duck.
Head-to-Head:
The Red’s have faced Kettering three times before. The fourth meeting comes just 370 days after the first, as the Reds won 2-1 at the same stage of the Cup last season. That meeting was at Farley Way, with the second coming in the league shortly afterwards. The Poppies came out on top that time with a 2-0 victory. Our last visit to Latimer Park, and only one in our history, saw an early goal for the Reds but Town dominated from then with a first half red card for Ethan Young as Kettering went on to take all three points in a 3-1 win.
One-to-Watch:
Michael Gyasi is one who has certainly been in some fine form this season for The Poppies. The 26 year old versatile forward, has bagged three goals so far this term, including a penalty in the win against Stratford Town last time out. Gyasi came through the Leicester City academy, before playing for multiple different clubs. His most notable include Chesterfield, Boston United, Tamworth, Kidderminster Harriers, Kings Lynn Town and Bedford Town before making the switch to Kettering. Gyasi even had a brief spell in Germany for lower league side 1. FC Phönix Lübeck.

Leaving Quorn on the A6, join the A46 west at the island before Birstall. Remain on the A46, merging onto the southbound M1. At Catthorpe Interchange take the A14 east. Leave the A14 at Junction nine, turning right at the island onto the A509. head straight over the first island onto Kettering Road, taking the first left into Station Road. Continue straight, over the railway bridge, before turning left into Polwell Lane. The ground is on the right and has a large car park.
