Quorn won’t have too long to dwell on the weekend defeat at home to Royston Town, as Bromsgrove Sporting visit the Stotto on Tuesday evening.
The Opposition:
Bromsgrove are looking to continue their recent good spell after a tough start to the season. Winning only one of their first seven games, the Rouslers have been victorious in their previous two games, winning 3-0 at home against Banbury United and 2-0 away to Barwell at the weekend, moving up to sixteenth in the league.
The Rouslers currently employ Jordan Lyden, a name football fans across the country may be familiar with. Lyden played four games in the Premier league for Aston Villa as well as winning League Two twice, with Leyton Orient and Swindon Town. Lyden is joined by Koby Arthur who played twelve games in the Championship for Birmingham City.
Current manager Scott Adey-Linforth also works as a Performance analyst for Aston Villa. Adey-Linforth took the role as the Rouslers’ manager in November 2024 and led the team to a fourteenth placed finish in the division last season.
Head-to-head:
The two sides faced off twice in the Midland Football Alliance back in 2017. The first meeting took place at Farley Way in early August, with the visitors comfortable 4-0 winners. The return match at the Victoria Ground didn’t see the Reds fare much better, losing 4-1 on that occasion.
Last Game:
Despite leading 1-0 at half time through Mason Frizelle’s header, Quorn conceded twice in the second half as Royston Town claimed their first win of the season.
Ones to watch:
Charlie Pavey is a player Quorn are going to need to keep quiet if they wish to do well. Pavey scored over the weekend against Barwell which will give him a confidence that Ryan Beswick’s team will need to deal with.
Pavey is a new signing at the Victoria Ground having joined on loan from Premier League club, Aston Villa. The attacker has made appearances for Aston Villa youth teams in the last few seasons Bromsgrove Sporting being his first outing into Men’s Football.
