After a tough result last weekend, travel south in the hopes of getting back to the amazing form prior to the Kettering loss.
Quorn’s Form:
It was a tough one to take last week verses Kettering, the Methodists conceded two and were unable to score, this is the first time Quorn haven’t found the score sheet in seven league matches. Previously failing to score in a 0-1 loss away to Harborough town. Before the Kettering match Quorn had mounted an impressive six games undefeated in the league. This run included wins against Alvechurch 4-3 and 2-0 win against Bury Town. Despite the loss against Kettering, Quorn still sit high on the table in 4th place.
Opponents Form:
Banbury United currently stand in eighteenth place, within touching distance of the relegation zone. Banbury will take pride in the fact that they have still been able to score a lot of goals this season, netting twenty-two times in fourteen games- current league leaders Harborough Town have scored only two more in the same number of games.
The Puritans were able to get a consolation goal late on against St Ives Town last time out with Connor Ferguson converting a penalty in the eighty-ninth minute. This was not enough to change the results however, as Banbury lost 2-1.
There is reason for optimism amongst Banbury supporters, as they defeated Bishop’s Stortford 4-1 in their last match before going to St Ives. Connor Ferguson scored an impressive hat trick in that game.
Head-to-Head:
This is the first meeting between the two clubs.
One To Watch:
Gibraltarian former international Reece Styche has scored an impressive six goals so far this season. He is a name possibly familiar to long time Quorn fans as he has played for Coalville Town and Shepshed Dynamo. Quorn’s defence will have to be at their best to ensure that the 36-year-old forward can’t find himself on the scoresheet.
