The Reds travel up to Lancashire to face Bamber Bridge in what is an important first meeting for both sides. Ryan Beswick’s men will hope they can carry on the good form from last Saturdays FA Trophy victory.
Quorn’s Form:
The Reds come into this game having beaten Leamington in an impressive 4-2 victory at Farley Way last Saturday in The FA Trophy. Elias Reaney’s first half goal along with Beswick’s penalty and Mason Frizelle’s header had put the Reds 3-1 up after falling behind early. The second half started with The Brakes clawing a goal back, but The Reds finished off an impressive win with a fourth goal from Theo Robinson late on to ensure the Reds advanced to the next round.
The Opposition:
Bamber Bridge come into this game on the back of a thumping 5-2 defeat away against Stockton Town. The Brig did however beat Alfreton Town 1-0 with keeping a clean sheet in their last home game. Before that, they lost 3-1 at home to Step five team Trafford FC in the FA Cup. The Brig sit two points above The Reds and just outside of the relegation zone.
Head-to-Head:
This will be the first meeting between the two village clubs.
One-to-Watch:
One player who has spent time in the Football League is Thomas Barkhuizen. A winger who can also operate as a striker the 33-year-old has played for the likes of Blackpool and Morecambe. Barkhuizen had spells at Preston North End and Derby County where he played in the Championship.
