Quorn will be looking to build on back-to-back 4-2 wins and aim for two league wins out of two when they welcome Ashton United to Farley Way on Tuesday evening.
Quorn’s Form:
The Reds come into this game in some good form. Back-to-back 4-2 wins started when the Reds welcomed Leamington to Farley Way in the FA Trophy and then The Reds travelled up North to Lancashire to face Bamber Bridge away. Jesse Friend put in a stella performance, grabbing two first half goals. The Brig fought back to 2-2 but The Reds resilience prevailed. Jesse Friend was one again on hand but this time setting up Terell Pennant to make it 3-2 and then Billy Kee finished the game late in the second half. It could have been more for the Reds who will be looking to build on an impressive performance.
The Opposition:
Ashton United come into this game having had the weekend off. The Robins did play an entertaining 2-2 draw against Warrington Town away and then beat The Wire on penalties to progress in the FA Trophy. The week before The Robins did fall foul of an FA Cup exit away to Buxton Town. The Robins haven’t played a league game since the 12th of September where they narrowly lost 1-0 at home to Cleethorpes Town. This represents the only league fixture The Robins have played in the last month.
Head-to-Head:
This will be the first meeting between the two clubs
One-to-Watch:
Netherlands born Justin Johnson is one to watch. The 30-year-old right midfielder started his career at FC United of Manchester before joining the youth set-up at Dundee United. His expansive career has included early spells in Cyprus with Othellos Athien and Akritas Chlor before moving back to Scotland to play for Hamilton Academical and Greenock Morton. Spells at Stalybridge Celtic and Chorley followed before moving to Macclesfield and then onto Ashton United this summer.
