FA CUP: Reds to Host Kettering Town
Quorn will host Kettering Town in the 2nd Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup. The tie will likely take place at 3pm on Saturday the 13th of September (date & KO time to be confirmed shortly). This will be the first meeting between the sides in the FA Cup.
The Poppies have faced more different opponents in the history of the FA Cup than any other side, with their visit to Quorn said to add to that number. The Reds will become the 194th different side that Kettering have played in, arguably, the most famous cup competition in the world. The Northants based side are also the highest scoring side in the history of the competition, currently sitting on a total of 927 following their 4-1 win away to Long Eaton United in the previous round. In stark contrast, our eight goal outburst against Sherwood Colliery moved us onto 99 in our less illustrious history.
Whilst we’re not aware of any previous meetings between the two sides, Quorn legends Doug Keast and Ian Turner turned out for both sides in the past. Keep an eye on our socials for confirmation of the date & time of the fixture.
